Whenever I buy work boots I always buy two pairs so I can rotate. I wear them just about every day of the year so they get a lot of wear.
And so back in 2014, I started buying Rockport Elkhart boots. Why?:
- No steel toe but full-grain leather.
- Laces that last for years.
- No black scuff marks on tile or tubs.
- No slipping on wet blacktop.
- Great traction on roofs with just enough flex.
- Comfortable to wear when working on extension ladders.
- Actually waterproof (I wear them winter and summer).
- Warm enough for Pennsylvania Winters and yet still comfortable for Pennsylvania humid summers.
- Comfortable enough that I wear them when doing 35-mile bike rides along the canals or from Washington DC to Pittsburg.
- Polish up real nice with some Kiwi brown for church.
- The wide widths fit my flipper feet.
- I average two years or more per two pairs and I keep the original insoles (they are quite comfortable).
- The speed lacing eyelets and lugs have never failed me.
Why do I buy new ones?
- I cut them with an angle grinder (better them than my toes).
- I tear the stitching when scrambling around scaffold (oh, and they are are great for climbing scaffold).
My 60-year old feet need comfort and these give me all-day comfort.
